Bertranou returns to Los Pumas for Wallabies Test

The 67-cap international returns to the Los Pumas squad following Argentina’s narrow defeat to Australia, adding considerable experience and quality as they prepare for the next chapter of their Rugby Championship campaign.

Bertranou’s recall is another significant achievement for the California Legion scrum-half, who has established himself as one of Major League Rugby’s premier players and one of the competition’s most influential halfbacks.

Having been named MLR Back of the Year in consecutive seasons, Bertranou has been one of the league’s most consistent performers and a standout for the Legion.

A vastly experienced international, Bertranou has represented Argentina at the highest level of the game, including at two Rugby World Cups, while also playing professionally in Super Rugby, Europe and Major League Rugby.

In 2024, Bertranou was the starting scrum-half in historic victories over both the All Blacks and Springboks, further demonstrating his ability to perform against the very best teams in world rugby.

His return provides Los Pumas with an experienced option at scrum-half and a player capable of making a significant impact during the latter stages of a Test match, particularly against a Wallabies side that enters the contest with three consecutive victories.
