California Legion has signed Jason Damm ahead of the 2026 Major League Rugby season, adding a durable MLR lock and USA Eagles captain with extensive league experience, international leadership, and a strong competitive edge.

Jason Damm arrives in California as one of Major League Rugby’s most reliable forwards, bringing physical presence, durability, and leadership built over seven professional seasons.

Born in Georgia and raised in South Carolina, Damm began his rugby journey while attending Clemson University. He helped lead the program to back to back Atlantic Coast Rugby League championships and advanced to the Varsity Cup Quarterfinals, establishing himself early as a powerful and disciplined forward. His development continued through the Carolina Dragons and in Vail, Colorado, before earning his first professional opportunity with the Glendale Raptors.

Damm made his MLR debut in 2019 and went on to spend four seasons with Rugby ATL, where he became a core contributor during the club’s most competitive stretch. He played a key role in Atlanta’s run to the 2021 Championship Final and developed a reputation as a dependable starter with strong defensive output and set piece consistency.

Following the franchise’s relocation, Damm continued with Rugby FC Los Angeles, where his influence grew further. In 2024 and 2025, he produced back to back standout seasons, setting career highs in starts, tackles, and tries. He captained RFCLA to its first postseason appearance in 2025 and earned All MLR Second XV honors for his performances.

“Excited for another season here in California,” Damm said. “I cannot wait to get in with the fellas and coaches, and continue to build upon the foundations we set.”

At the international level, Damm has represented the USA Eagles and captained the national side, bringing elite level leadership and accountability into high performance environments. He made his test debut against Chile in 2022 and has remained a regular presence in national team selections since.

Across his MLR career, Damm has made 64 appearances, started 51 matches, scored 22 tries, and completed more than 700 tackles. His combination of experience, leadership, and physical edge strengthens the Legion forward pack as the club builds toward the 2026 season.
