Fly-half Steffan Crimp returns to Legion for 2026 after gaining MLR experience and USA pathway exposure. The Welsh-born, USA eligible playmaker adds depth and versatility to the backline.
Steffan Crimp joins California Legion for the 2026 season after prior time with the San Diego Legion and Anthem RC in Major League Rugby.
The Welsh-born, USA eligible fly-half has steadily built momentum within the USA Rugby pathway. He earned his first cap with the USA U20s in June 2023 against Canada and was later named to the extended USA Eagles squad for the July international window in 2024.
Crimp developed at Cardiff Metropolitan University, competing in the Welsh Rugby Union National Championship and BUCS Super Rugby. During his university years, he established himself as a composed distributor with a strong tactical kicking game.
Before turning professional, Crimp spent time with San Diego Old Aztecs RFC and trained with the San Diego Legion U23 squad. That exposure accelerated his progression and placed him on the radar of national selectors.
In 2024, he signed with Anthem RC, the MLR development initiative designed to prepare the next generation of Eagles ahead of the 2031 Rugby World Cup on home soil. He made four appearances with three starts to close the 2024 regular season.
Crimp then joined San Diego Legion for the 2025 MLR campaign, earning seven appearances with six starts. He recorded two tries, five conversions, and two penalties while logging significant minutes in game management. His performances earned him MLR Team of the Week honors in 2025.
Now continuing with California Legion, Crimp adds versatility and continued upside at fly-half as the club builds toward 2026.
