Australian center Nick Chan signs with California Legion for the 2026 Major League Rugby season after a strong debut campaign with Rugby FC Los Angeles.
California Legion has signed Australian center Nick Chan for the 2026 season.
Chan joins Legion following his first Major League Rugby season with Rugby FC Los Angeles in 2025. The Sydney native started all 12 matches during the campaign, scoring three tries while recording 121 tackles and two assists.
Before arriving in MLR, Chan built his reputation in Australia’s premier domestic competition with Randwick in the Shute Shield. He joined the Galloping Greens in 2021 and helped lead the club to the 2023 Shute Shield championship.
Earlier in his development, Chan played fly half during his school years before moving to center as he grew into the midfield role. His strong performances earned selection to the Junior Wallabies program.
Chan also gained experience in professional environments in Australia. He trained with the Western Force during the 2022 Super Rugby preseason and spent time in the wider squad environment of the NSW Waratahs.
Now joining Legion, Chan brings professional experience, defensive work rate, and attacking versatility to the midfield as the club prepares for the 2026 Major League Rugby season.
