California Legion continued its march toward the postseason with a dominant 55 to 26 victory over Anthem Rugby Carolina, officially clinching a place in the 2026 Major League Rugby Playoffs. The performance earned three Legion players selection to the MLR Week 10 First XV, while Steffan Crimp was named both Legion Man of the Match and MLR Player of the Week after a sensational hat trick performance.

The recognition followed another statement road victory from the Legion, who crossed for eight tries and controlled the match from start to finish in Charlotte. With one regular season match remaining, California continues to build momentum at a crucial stage of the campaign.

At blindside flanker, Lance Williams earned First XV honors after delivering a tireless all-around performance. Williams led the defensive effort with 15 tackles made while adding 56 meters gained and 22 ruck arrivals. His physicality and work rate helped California maintain pressure throughout the contest and set the tone in both attack and defense.

In the midfield, Cole Semu was recognized after another strong showing at outside center. Semu crossed for a try, made 14 tackles, and added 50 meters with ball in hand. His balance of defensive intensity and attacking impact helped California control momentum during several key stretches of the match.

At fullback, Steffan Crimp delivered one of the standout individual performances of the Major League Rugby season. Crimp scored three tries, gained 142 meters, and added eight tackles in a complete display from the backfield. His performance earned him Legion Man of the Match honors before being recognized as the MLR Week 10 Player of the Week.

The individual accolades reflect another dominant team performance as California continues to find form heading into the postseason. With a playoff berth secured, the Legion now turn their attention to one final regular season challenge and an opportunity to earn the right to host a playoff match in California.

The focus now shifts to Seattle and one of the biggest matches of the year.

California travels north for a Sunday Night Rugby showdown with hosting rights for a playoff match potentially on the line. With postseason positioning still to be decided, the Legion will look to carry their momentum into a massive regular season finale.
