San Diego Legion Hosts Bus Push Challenge II for Rady Children’s Hospital

Last year, in a powerful demonstration of sheer willpower, eight Legion players pushed a metro bus weighing up to 33,000 pounds for Rady Children's Hospital. This year, with the thrilling involvement of the Cuervos Tijuana Men's and Women's Rugby Teams, this year's event has an international dimension, transforming it into a worldwide celebration of determination, camaraderie, and generosity, with all donations going to Rady Children's Hospital.
Dalton Toyota has generously donated $2,000 towards the cause, reflecting their unwavering commitment to supporting the health and well-being of children in the San Diego community. This donation will be matched by Toyota Corporate, bringing their total donation to $4,000.
The shared mission of the San Diego Legion and Dalton Toyota is to celebrate and honor Rady Children’s Hospital, which provides lifesaving care, advances pediatric research, and ensures every child receives the support they need for a brighter future.
This year's event is even bigger and better, with the first-ever women's bracket. The San Diego Surfers will face off against the Cuervos Tijuana Women's Team. The San Diego Legion Academy will compete against USD Rugby in the men's division, while the Cuervos Tijuana Men's Team will meet the Noodle Bagz Rugby Club.
A Test of Strength: Who Will Push the 10-Ton Bus the Fastest?
The objective of the competition is to have eight players per team push a 10-ton bus fifty feet. The team that completes this accomplishment in the quickest time will be declared the champion. The winners of the men's and women's divisions will square off in a championship push-off as the final event. The winner not only wins the Bus Push Challenge II championship title but something more: knowing that their efforts directly benefit Rady Children's Hospital's patients.
