California Legion Announce Starting XV vs New England Free Jacks
California Legion has named its Starting XV for Round 2 of the 2026 Major League Rugby season, set to face the reigning champion New England Free Jacks on Saturday at Torero Stadium in San Diego. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM PT.
The second stop of the California tour of rugby brings Legion back to Torero for a major early test. After a heartbreaking loss in Round 1, the group enters this match focused, driven, and ready to respond.
Jason Damm captains the side, with Gonzalo Bertranou serving as vice captain. The lineup shows continuity with key additions, as Billy Meakes, Rory van Vugt, and Ed Timpson earn their first starts of the season.
